How to Prepare for IVF
Preparing for your first IVF cycle is a significant milestone, and it's completely natural to feel a mix of excitement and nervousness about what lies ahead. You've likely learned that IVF stands for "in vitro fertilization"—a process where embryos are created in a specialized lab, giving you new possibilities for building your family.

Uterus Transplants: An Emerging Solution for Fertility Challenges
Imagine carrying a pregnancy in your own body—with a uterus that came from someone else. Sound futuristic? Leading scientists are already working on this solution, and more than two dozen babies have been born through this technique in the United States. Though still considered experimental, uterus transplantation is emerging as a potential solution for the millions of people globally who are experiencing infertility because of an inability to carry a pregnancy on their own (called uterine factor infertility, or UFI). Today, the only other solution is to hire a gestational surrogate or to adopt; uterus transplantation could offer a way for aspiring mothers to experience carrying a pregnancy. Recently, the Sunfish team traveled to Texas to meet Dr. Giuliano Testa and Dr. Liza Johannesson, Medical Directors for Uterus Transplants at Baylor University and internationally-recognized pioneers in this emerging procedure. From them, we learned more about this novel approach to UFI—how it works, who can benefit from it, and how we might one day help make it more available.

Embryo Freezing, Embryo Banking, and Egg Freezing: Which Fertility Preservation Option Is Right for You?
When exploring fertility preservation options, you'll likely encounter two main paths: embryo freezing and egg freezing. Both techniques can help preserve reproductive potential, but they serve different purposes in the family-building journey—and the differences can be very personal, with emotional and even legal implications. Understanding the differences between these methods can help you choose which one aligns best with your current circumstances and future goals.

What Happens to My Embryos Once They're Frozen?
Freezing embryos, also known as embryo banking, is a powerful decision—one that provides flexibility, hope, and more control over your family planning. But after finishing your cryopreservation cycle, you may be wondering: Where do my frozen embryos go now? How do I know they’re safe? What if I move or change clinics later on?
